Connect Google Drive to Ventos
Use this administrator guide to choose the Google Drive folders Ventos can index for your organization. Those folders define the Drive content Ventos can search in the knowledge base.
Organization connection
Section titled “Organization connection”Choose the Google Drive folders Ventos indexes into the knowledge base. Ventos can search the content in those folders, but not the rest of your organization’s Drive.
Before you begin
Section titled “Before you begin”You need an Admin role in Ventos, the Drive folder IDs your organization wants to index, and Workspace administrator access if you are supplying delegated credentials.
Connect Google Drive for your organization
Section titled “Connect Google Drive for your organization”Google Drive needs only an organization-level connection — there’s no separate personal step. It uses a Google service account with delegated access to your Workspace, so a Workspace administrator should do this.
- Open Settings › Integrations and click Connect on the Google Drive card.
- Add the Drive folder IDs you want Ventos to be able to access.
- If you’re supplying your own service account, expand Advanced to paste the service account JSON and choose the write authentication method. Then click Save — a green check mark confirms the connection.
To change folders or disconnect later, click Manage on the card.
Save files as a user
Section titled “Save files as a user”Ventos currently uses domain-wide delegation (DWD) to make Google Drive changes as the requesting user. Team members do not connect a personal Google account today.
What success looks like
Section titled “What success looks like”The Google Drive card shows as connected, and the selected folders begin indexing. Your team can search that content and save files in the configured Drive area without a personal Google connection.
Next steps
Section titled “Next steps”- Google Workspace — read Gmail and Calendar (a separate integration)
- OneDrive & SharePoint — the equivalent for teams on Microsoft storage
- Knowledge base — search and read Drive files
