Connect OneDrive and SharePoint to Ventos

Connect OneDrive and SharePoint so Ventos can search the folders and libraries your administrator selects. Team members then connect their work Microsoft account before Ventos saves files as them.

Organization connection

Choose the OneDrive folders and SharePoint document libraries Ventos indexes into the knowledge base. Ventos can search the content in those locations, but not storage outside that configured scope.

Before you begin

For organization setup, you need an Admin role in Ventos and access to the folders or document libraries you want Ventos to index. Team members need a work Microsoft account in the same tenant before they can connect personally.

Admin: connect OneDrive and SharePoint for your organization

The organization connection handles reading and defines which folders are in scope. Do this once, as an admin.

1. Open Settings › Integrations and click Connect on the Microsoft SharePoint & OneDrive card.
2. Complete the Microsoft sign-in.
3. Paste the URL of each OneDrive folder or SharePoint document library you want indexed.

Personal connection

Ventos saves files as the requesting user. Connect your work Microsoft account through personal OAuth before Ventos can save a file for you. Without it, Ventos can still search the files your organization indexed but cannot write anything.

Connect your Microsoft account to save files

1. Open Settings › Personal Integrations and click Connect on the Microsoft SharePoint & OneDrive card.
2. Sign in with your work Microsoft account, from the same tenant your organization uses.

What success looks like

The selected folders or libraries begin indexing for the knowledge base. After a team member connects their Microsoft account, Ventos can save files as that user where they have permission.
