Connect Slack to Ventos

Connect Slack so your team can work with Ventos without leaving it. An administrator installs the Ventos Slack app for the workspace, then each team member links their own Slack account so Ventos recognizes who it’s talking to.

Organization connection

Installing the Ventos Slack app makes Slack available as a channel for your organization. Slack messages are not indexed into the knowledge base. See Use Ventos in Slack for the day-to-day channel experience.

Before you begin

For the workspace install you need permission to add apps to your Slack workspace (a Workspace Owner or Admin, or approval from one). Each team member needs to be a member of that same workspace.

Admin: install the Ventos Slack app for your workspace

A one-time setup, done by an admin.

1. Open Settings › Integrations and click Connect on the Slack card under Messaging.
2. On Slack’s authorization screen, choose the workspace and approve the permissions the Ventos app requests.
3. Back in Ventos, the Slack card shows as connected. In Slack, add the Ventos app to any channels where your team should be able to mention it.

Personal connection

Each person links their own Slack account so Ventos recognizes who sent a message. This step is available only after an administrator has installed the app.

Connect your Slack account

1. Open Settings › Personal Integrations and click Connect on the Slack card.
2. Sign in to the same workspace the admin connected and approve access. Ventos links that Slack identity to your Ventos account.

What success looks like

The Slack card shows as connected for the organization, and each team member’s Personal Integrations page shows their Slack account linked. Messages a linked member sends Ventos in Slack are recognized as coming from that person.
